Fajitas are a great idea for an improvised meal with friends. On the one hand, because the preparation is ultra fast. On the other hand, because everyone can put what they like in it. Everyone will be satisfied! We always keep a few wheat or corn tortillas in our cupboards and enough to make a sauce. For the rest, it all depends on your desires! Here is a recipe for a slimming chicken fajita, to enjoy without depriving yourself.


8 wheat tortillas
4 salad leaves
2 chicken breasts
2 onions
1 red pepper
1 yellow pepper
1 coriander stalk
1 tablespoon chilli powder
juice of half a lemon
1 tablespoon of oil
salt and pepper

1-Cut the chicken into strips. Soak the chicken in the lemon juice to give it flavour. Set aside in a cool place.

2-Wash the peppers, remove the seeds and white membranes, then cut them into strips. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a non-stick pan and fry the peppers for about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and remove from the pan.

3-Peel and chop the onions. Replace the peppers with the onions and add the second tablespoon of oil. Add salt and pepper, cook for 5 minutes and then remove from the pan.

4-Replace the onions with the lemon chicken and chilli powder, without additional greasing. Brown for 5 minutes, stirring, before adding the peppers and onions. Mix well.

5-Lightly moisten the tortillas and heat them in a plate in the microwave for 30 seconds. Place a salad leaf in each tortilla and spread the chicken mixture over it. Sprinkle the coriander on top.

6-Close the tortilla by folding over the bottom and sides. Enjoy!

Diet Tip

This light recipe is made without sauce. But you can also provide your guests with a spicy tomato sauce or a cottage cheese sauce. You can also offer them a little grated cheese.

There are as many variations of fajitas as there are tastes: corn, red beans, avocado, tomatoes, courgettes… Everything is possible. It’s up to you to be creative!
