In fact, it is a drink that has been consumed for centuries in South East Asia and India. Known for its virtues, it is very appreciated by foodistas and vegans thanks to all its benefits!
What is golden milk?
Golden milk is called this because of its golden colour, which is given by the main spice used in the composition of this exotic drink: turmeric! Made from vegetable milk, coconut oil and this spice, it is a real source of energy and above all an excellent detox mixture, which we like to drink in winter. Hot, sweet and mild, it can be drunk at any time of the day, and it’s easy to make!
To make it, you first need to prepare a turmeric paste with :
– 1/4 cup of turmeric powder
– 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
– 1/2 cup of filtered water
– A pinch of grated ginger
Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and let it thicken.
Next, heat up some vegetable milk with a spoonful of coconut oil, then add the paste you just made. Finally, before consuming your golden milk, sweeten with honey, flavour with cinnamon… you can enjoy!
